Side angle from the edge of the mat. Stable, clear footage gets the best results. Overhead and close-up can work but may miss details. Nothing fancy required—your phone is fine.
No. Piranha is a training tool, not a replacement. The beta maps positions in the footage you upload. Your coach's experience and live feedback still matter.
In the beta, each clip is limited to 5 minutes and 250 MB.
The beta is free and has no subscription. If you have a subscription from the earlier Piranha app, you can manage or cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings; see the Refund Policy. Paid plans will be described at relaunch. Questions: [email protected].
To analyse a clip, we extract still frames and send them to OpenAI (USA) through its API. OpenAI processes them to give us the analysis and, under its API terms, to monitor for abuse. We haven't opted in to data sharing, so under those terms OpenAI doesn't use them to train its models. OpenAI may keep them in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, or longer if the law requires it or it's needed to protect against harm. We send frames, not your name or email, and we don't sell your personal information or use it for advertising. When you upload, you confirm that everyone identifiable in the clip has seen our partner notice and agreed. You or a training partner can ask us to remove a clip. Full details: beta privacy notice.

Piranha is off the app stores while we train it. Our goal before relaunch is to get positions right more than 85% of the time on rolls it has never seen, checked by brown and black belts. Help us get there in the invite-only beta.
